I JUST NEED A CERTIFICATE, I DON'T NEED CONTRACTORS INSURANCE...
How many times have you heard “I don’t need contractors insurance” from your contractor clients? General contractors, contractors and subcontractors are often times required by the businesses they work for to carry certain types of insurance. We can help find the right coverage needed for your client in their field of expertise. Contractors insurance can help protect against third-party claims of property damage, employee accidents, and owned equipment and tools. This can include products ranging from Commercial Auto, General Liability, Pollution Liability and much more.
WHAT IS A HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT?
Often times a contract, in which is being bid upon, requires certain coverages or endorsements to be specifically listed on a contractors insurance policy. This can include a hold harmless agreement, which indemnifies, or secures someone against their legal responsibility for their actions. The hold harmless agreement promises to reimburse, or defend, the other party (indemnitee) against claims or suits brought against them by a third party. If this is a requirement please make sure to notify the company who is providing your clients contractors insurance.WHAT IS A CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE?
Before starting on a new project, a Certificate of Insurance (COI) may be required for a Contract to confirm certain contractors insurance coverages are in place. The Certificate of Insurance will show the insured’s name, contractors liability limits, effective dates of the policy as well as the Agency’s name and address. If the contract requires certain coverages and limits, this will be considered proof of the required contractors insurance coverage.ELIGIBLE CLASSES
